Matoi Hikeshi Fireman Jacket

FEATURE: Post-1970 Vintage Fireman's Hanten Jacket, Unisex, Comfortable to Wear & Stylish.

A matoi is a flag pole that was used in the Edo Period by the Firemen to notify people of the fire near or within a building.  The firemen would take the matoi to the top of the building and wave to draw the attention of other firefighters group to assist at the site.  Each unit have their own unique matoi design.


MATERIAL: 100% Cotton

CONDITION: Moderate used and washed. Regular vintage condition.

WASHING INSTRUCTION:

-Hand-wash gentle with cold to warm water & mild detergent, and then hang in the shadow to dry. If it is not too dirty, you can clean just with water. Clean only when necessary.
