1930s Early Showa Era Indigo Vintage Japanese Fireman Hanten

FEATURE: Antique Japanese Fireman Kimono Jacket, roughly from Taisho to early Showa Period 1930-40s.  

 

 

DETAIL: Unisex, Comfortable to Wear & Stylish.  

 

This fireman jacket is dyed with indigo and made in the early 1930s. Fireman jacket with an indigo dyed design like this is hard to find nowadays and very rare. 

 

This one-of-a-kind jacket was done by Tsutsugaki style hand-drawn rice-paste resist dyeing technique. Indigo dyed were used because its element is known to be flame resistant in Japan.  

 

MATERIAL: 100% Cotton, Japanese Vintage Textile

 

CONDITION: Moderate used and washed. Colour nicely faded, there are maybe some small holes, rip or loose thread (regular vintage condition).

WASHING INSTRUCTION:

-Handwash gentle with cold to warm water, use mild detergent if needed. Hang to dry in the shadow. Wash separately.
