Vintage Matoi Hikeshi Japanese Fireman Hanten

A matoi is a flag pole that was used in the Edo Period by the Firemen to notify people of the fire near or within a building. The firemen would take the matoi to the top of the building and wave to draw the attention of other firefighters group to assist at the site. Each unit have their own unique matoi design.

CONDITION: Moderate used and washed Vintage condition.  Since is vintage item, at time there could be some staind, holes, rip and loose threads due to its age.  It is an old garment from long time ago, please understand it's condition.
